JSS Mahavidyapeetha is a society registered in the year 1954 under Karnataka societies Registration Act. This organization has pioneered the concept of education as a tool for social change. It has adopted a multi – pronged approach to ensure better quality of life. It has established more than 350 institutions spread across the world located in many States (Karnataka, Tamilnadu & Uttar Pradesh) as well as in Mauritius, USA and Dubai. More than One lakh students are pursuing their education. Institutions in its fold go beyond education to span crèche, old age homes, co-operatives, rural development, orphanages, vocational training (agriculture & allied areas), publication, even cultural revival and protection of our heritage.

 

ESTABLISHMENT OF JSS KRCST:

JSS Knowledge Resource centre for Science and Technology aims to be an excellent educational and resource centre for students and teachers to enrich their scientific knowledge by fostering awareness, a scientific attitude and a scientific way of thinking. Additionally, it offers an immersive and experiential setting for both entertainment and learning. JSS Mahavidyapeeta has established JSS Knowledge Resource Centre for Science & Technology at Sri Suttur Kshetra with the financial assistance from Karnataka Science and Technology Promotion Society (KSTePS), Department of Science and Technology GOK.

Newton’s cradle

Newton's cradle is a device, usually made of metal, that demonstrates the principles of conservation of momentum and conservation of energy in physics with swinging spheres.

Electrical Wiring

Electrical Wiring is a process of connecting cables and wires to the related devices such as fuse, switches, sockets, lights, fans etc. to the main distribution board is a specific structure to the utility pole for continues power supply.

Persistence of Vision

Persistence of vision is the optical illusion that occurs when the visual perception of an object does not cease for some time after the rays of light proceeding from it have ceased to enter the eye.

Sun Dial

A sundial is a horological device that tells the time of day (referred to as civil time in modern usage) when direct sunlight shines by the apparent position of the Sun in the sky. In the narrowest sense of the word, it consists of a flat plate (the dial) and a gnomon, which casts a shadow onto the dial.

Bird in the cage

This effect occurs when pictures of a bird and an empty cage are pasted on opposite sides of a rectangular sheet of metal, which can be spun around a vertical axis using a handle fixed to a gear at the base.

Gyroscope

A Gyroscope demonstrates the principles of angular momentum and rotational stability. A simple gyroscope model is constructed with a bicycle wheel with handles, a low-friction stool or chair, the handles are attached to the bicycle wheel for easier spinning, ensuring the wheel can spin freely.

Science Excursion : Visit to UR Rao Satellite Centre, ISRO, Bengaluru

As a part of Outreach activities, JSS KRCST has arranged a Science Excursion for 180 students of JSS Highschool, Sri Suttur Kshetra. This program creates interest about Space and Satellites which leads to ignite young minds to choose science related areas in their future career.

ISRO organized the "India International Science Festival - 2023 (IISF -2023)" at Sri Suttur Kshetra, further enriching the scientific tapestry of the region.

NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY CELEBRATION -2024

JSS KRCST Suttur celebrated National Science Day on 28th February 2024, with a series of engaging activities aimed at promoting scientific curiosity and knowledge among students.

Space on Wheel Exhibition

The "Space on Wheel Exhibition," a mobile repository of cosmic wonders housed within a specially designed bus, aimed to transcend the conventional boundaries of space education.
